Resources for library staff serving diverse populations

Multilingual Collection Development Grant 2021-22

The South Carolina State Library is offering Multilingual Collection Development grants, available to public libraries in South Carolina. An application for funding, if accepted, will result in a grant award providing reimbursement to the County for qualifying expenditures up to $2,000.

These grants will help ensure that speakers of languages other than English have access to new library materials in their first languages.
Grant funding must be used to purchase the following types of library materials:

  • Single-language materials (written entirely in a language other than English)
  • Bilingual materials (containing the entire text in two languages)
  • Books and multimedia materials (DVDs, audiobooks, etc.) are allowed

Applications Closed
Applications have closed as of October 29, 2021. Project recipient announcements were made November 2021.
