Thank you for your participation in providing quality, community based programs throughout the winter in public libraries. This site contains information that will help librarians and staff run winter reading programs in their communities successfully and efficiently by providing easy access to all resources here.
The South Carolina State Library has long supported summer reading programs as a way to promote the joy of reading for fun, connect communities, and to encourage lifelong library users. Now the SC State Library is proud to support the Winter Reading Program to encourage patrons of all ages to be library users and avid readers.
Any South Carolina public library can run a Winter Reading Program. Participating libraries can:
The purpose of the Winter Reading Program is to improve family literacy; and increase library usage and reading by all ages.

However, libraries participating in the Winter Reading programs may use the art, following these guidelines, to promote and market their Winter Reading programs. Art may not be manipulated.
