The South Carolina State Library is offering a competitive Travel Grant to attend the Joint Conference of Librarians of Color (JCLC), held October 5-9, 2022 in St. Pete Beach, Florida, for up to five (5) South Carolina public library staff. An application for funding, if accepted, will result in a grant award providing reimbursement to the County for qualifying expenditures up to $1,500.
JCLC is a conference for everyone! It brings together a diverse group of librarians, library staff, library supporters, and community participants to explore diversity issues in libraries and how they affect the ethnic communities that use our services. The conference is offered every four years and is sponsored by National Associations of Librarians of Color (NALCo). JCLC Travel Grant recipients will be able to participate in sessions provided by nationally recognized speakers, skills-building workshops, research-based panels, networking opportunities, and exhibits.
This Project is funded by the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and administered by the South Carolina State Library (SCSL).
The application period for the JCLC Travel Grant has closed and recipients have been notified.
