The South Carolina State Documents Depository Program provides access to publications produced by state agencies and state-supported academic institutions.
The South Carolina Code of Laws 60-2-10 requires that these institutions provide the State Library with 15 copies of publications for dissemination to 11 depository libraries in South Carolina and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Items in the Documents Depository Program include print publications and “born digital” documents often originally published on agency websites.
The South Carolina State Library is currently making available historical and current state documents online through the State Documents Depository. We are digitizing paper records in our collection and saving born-digital documents available through state agency websites.
